The Kitchen Printer Free Text functionality allows a POS Operator to enter free text (up to 90 characters) against pre-determined Kitchen Items.   This can be used either alongside or instead of the Addable / Removable function to enhance communication between the POS and the Kitchen Staff.

This free text entry then prints out on a Kitchen Printer (or local POS Printer that has been set up to also be utilised as a kitchen printer).

The Back Office (or Head Office in the case of an MSO) user controls which Stock Items the Kitchen Printer Free Text option is available to through two tick box options in your Stock Change screen and can be utilised in two ways.

Tick Box 1 - Free Text 
When this option is ticked you are able to press the Free Text button and enter Free Text against this item (must be selected against all items that utilise Free Text)

Tick Box 2 - Auto Free Text
When this option is ticked the Free Text entry will pop up automatically when the stock item is selected on the POS

In the below example you can see a combination of using the Addable/Removable function alongside the Free Text option.

Requirements to use this feature:
- Minimum Beacon Version of 3.0.8.1 onwards
- You must have a kitchen printer set up, this could be a remote kitchen printer or using your local POS printer as a kitchen printer
- The functionality only works for 'Kitchen Items', it will not work for a standard item like a 600ml Coke
